“Koi hardichh nahi hai!”- Hardik Pandya returns as bowler; claims three wicket to shatter Rajasthan batsmen in finals

When all-rounder Hardik Pandya was criticised for his bowling, he must be saving all his energies for the finals because it was only due to his spell that Rajasthan lost their main batsmen. RR failed to put a high total on the score-board and ended up adding only a mere 130 by losing 9 wickets.

Talking about the match, Rajasthan Royals have won the toss and opted to bat first. RR’s record of batting first have been good in their previous matches but in the finals, this was probably their bad decision. Under pressure, youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal was struggling to score his first run but got out soon after 22 off 16 with a four and two sixes from a ball from Yash Dayal. Yash Dayal had also dismissed Yashasvi in the Qualifier 1 also when both the team faced each other.

As it is well known that RR’s whole batting responsibilities are on the shoulders of Jos Buttler and when he fails, RR fails most of the time. He couldn’t repeat his heroics and scored the highest score for RR while playing a slow and careful innings with his 39 off 35 balls with five fours but it was Hardik Pandya who made the English batsman walk back to the dressing room. Jos Buttler wasn’t at all happy with his performance and he covered his face, which was full of emotions, and threw away his helmet just before he crossed the boundary cushions.

Hardik Pandya recorded figures of 3/17 in his four-over spell and turned back the table completely. RR was reduced to 79 for 4 from 60 for 1. Sanju Samson played two good shots and followed Jaiswal soon to the du-out. Hardik Pandya removed the dangerous West Indian batter Shimron Hetmyer who scored 11 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin tried to lift RR’s innings but ended up giving a simple catch to Titans fielder. Trent Boult and Riyan Parag hadn’t got many balls left to add runs and the Boult had to go back after scoring a six.

A brilliant death bowling assured Gujarat of a low total and Parag was cleaned bowled in the final delivery of the innings with a yorker from Mohammed Shami.
