Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur’s outbursts in the 3rd ODI between India and Bangladesh have landed her in trouble as she was fined 75% of her match fees and also received a two-match ban following 3 demerit points for her misconduct.
The BCCI did not appeal against the two-match ban that the ICC imposed on Kaur. The board believes that Harman’s misconduct must not go unpunished. Talking to reporters in Delhi, Jay Shah, the secretary of BCCI revealed that the Indian skipper will be questioned for her actions.
Harmanpreet Kaur is set to be questioned by Roger Binny, the BCCI president, and VVS Laxman for her misconduct. Jay Shah said, “Roger Binny and Laxman will question Harmanpreet on her outbursts during the third ODI against Bangladesh” (via Indian Express).
Harmanpreet Kaur to miss first two matches of the Asian Games?
Following the two-match ICC ban, Harmanpreet Kaur is likely to miss the first two matches of the Asian Games. The BCCI can avoid this from happening if India play an International series before that but as the questioning process is yet to take place, it is unlikely to expect such a thing right now.
Harmanpreet Kaur’s misconduct has been nothing short of appalling to the stature of a captain of the team and has gathered massive criticism towards the cricketer. She will be thoroughly questioned for her actions soon. Also, it is to be seen if the BCCI organizes a bilateral series to end the ban on Kaur or if someone else will lead India at the Asian Games.
