During the post-match presentation of the 2nd ODI between India and Bangladesh, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was mistakenly referred to as Jemimah Rodrigues by the Bangladeshi presenter. Harmanpreet Kaur’s reaction to the presenter’s mistake went viral on social media.

Harmanpreet Kaur did not take this mistake well as she corrected her name and left the presentation before he could conclude it. Fans were enraged by this mistake of the presenter and questioned how was he even given the role if he did not remember the Indian Captain’s name.

While it could’ve been an honest mistake since Jemimah Rodrigues was the player of the match, it in no way justifies similar instances in women’s cricket before. Women cricketers’ names have also been mispronounced and named incorrectly on air before.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India are currently touring Bangladesh for a 3-match T20I and ODI series. India won the T20I series 2-1 and the ODI series currently stands tied at 1-1. Talking about the second ODI, Jemimah Rodrigues starred with her all-round show. The Mumbai cricketer scored a 78-ball 86 before claiming a four-wicket haul with the ball.
