Harsha Bhogle, the legendary Indian commentator, has announced that he would be missing the important clash between India and Pakistan due to dengue. The 62-year-old journalist confirmed on his X account that he aims to be back on 19th for India’s match with Bangladesh.
Harsha Bhogle also thanked his colleagues and the broadcast crew for covering for him during India’s match with Australia. He said due to the incoming weakness and lowered immunity he will endure, he could not be present for the much awaited fixture.
Harsha Bhogle has been a commentator for 40 years. His first stint in the world of Cricket broadcast was in 1983, where he commentated for the first time in an ODI between India and Pakistan for Doordarshan. Despite never playing the sport professionally, he became one of the biggest voices in the World of Cricket.

For the first time in years Harsha Bhogle would be missing an India-Pakistan match. He started his commentary career with an ODI between India and Pakistan. In the 40 years of his career, he has been a part of many World Cups, IPLs and bilateral series that have made him a household name.
Many fans wished Bhogle a quick recovery and wished for him to return as soon as possible. They were sad about the fact that such an important match like India and Pakistan’s won’t have the legend in the commentary box.
Others joked about how mosquitoes are ruining everything, as the Indian opener, Shubman Gill, is reported to be down with dengue as well. Fans demanded action to be taken against mosquitoes soon.
