“He lost 7-8 kgs after KKR game,” Hardik Pandya makes concerning revelations about Yash Dayal who got hit for five sixes

Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya made a shocking revelation on Tuesday when he was asked about teammate Yash Dayal. Hardik revealed that Dayal has been out of action since that match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) because he fell ill and has lost 7-8 kg of his body weight. Pandya also said that it looks impossible for Dayal to make a comeback this season.

The Gujarat Titans captain spoke at length when he was asked to comment on Dayal’s absence from the playing XI. Pandya said that Dayal has not felt the same after being on the wrong side of a historic moment in the IPL history. Notably, GT’s Yash Dayal was hit for five consecutive sixes by KKR’s Rinu Singh when Kolkata needed 28 runs off the last over.

The left-arm pacer looked in disdain after such hammering and his family too felt the same sitting in Allahabad. Dayal’s father revealed that the UP pacer’s mother cried inconsolably after their son got hit for five sixes in a row. Meanwhile, Dayal could not comprehend such a tough moment and fell ill.

“I can’t confirm that (on his chances of playing again this season). He fell ill and lost 7-8 kilos after that match. There was a spread of viral infection during that period and also due to the pressure he had faced, his condition is presently not good enough to take the field. Someone’s loss is someone’s gain at the end of the day. It is going to take a long time before we see him on the field,” Pandya remarked while talking to Star Sports after the win over Mumbai Indians.

Mohit Sharma fills the void!

While Yash Dayal is struggling to get back on his feet, Gujarat Titans have found a good replacement in Mohit Sharma. The veteran pacer has done a great job so far, playing for GT. Sharma has picked up six wickets in four matches and has maintained an economy rate of 6.15 while also bowling in the death overs. The right-arm pacer did a terrific job to defend 12 runs in the last over against Lucknow Super Giants.
