Yashasvi Jaiswal keeps Mumbai in the game
Yashasvi Jaiswal was a part of the Rajasthan Royals franchise and played excellently when their star batter Jos Buttler was going through a bad form during the second-half of the match. Ahead of the tournament, the franchise retained him and he didn’t dissapoint them. He is continuing with this form in the Ranji Trophy too.
Th 20-year-old helped with his knock to clear the quaterfinals beating Uttarakhand and helped Mumbai win with mammoth 725 runs. But in the semifinal against UP, Mumbai was in tricky situation with their score read 24/2 when they lost their skipper Prithvi Shaw for a duck.
Jaiswal hanged at the crease and brought his second first-class hundred. His century helped Mumbai reach sizeable target. After yesterday’s play, Jaiswal told ESPNcricinfo:
“Initially, it was difficult, the ball was moving, and they [Uttar Pradesh] were bowling well. I needed to respect them, and I just needed to get them tired and play that session when they are bowling well. The whole day, the ball was moving. I had to focus well to leave the balls. I was just trying to build parterships. It was good. I enjoyed it.”
