How much prize money will RR get after finishing as runner-up in IPL 2022?
RR
Rajasthan Royals finished IPL 2022 as the runners-up of the tournament as they failed to defeat the Gujarat Titans in the finals. RR never really got going in the game with the bat or with the ball, having managed just 130 in the first innings after choosing to bat first and then losing the game in the 19th over as GT’s Shubman Gill hoiked Obed McCoy’s ball for a six.
Gujarat controlled the game from all aspects and their captain, Hardik Pandya led from the front as he won the Player of the Match award for his 3/17 with the ball and a very important knock of 34 runs with the bat. Sanju Samson on the other hand tried everything he could, using up both Boult and Chahal before the 16th over to contain GT but RR eventually fell short.
RR set to received 13 crores as prize money for finishing 2nd in IPL 2022
Rajasthan may take the the FairPlay award, the Orange cap and the Purple Cap, but could not take home the IPL trophy. However, the franchise will still win a huge cash prize of 13 crores for finishing the IPL season as runners up of the tournament. Both Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal shall take 10 lakhs each for winning the Orange Cap and Purple Cap resepctively as they ended the season with the most runs scored and highest wickets taken individually.
Rajasthan may not have won the trophy but they have managed to create a squad full of youngsters who can be future stars for the franchise. Some of their prominent young performers this season were Yashasvi Jaiswal, Prasidh Krishna, Devdutt Paddikal and Riyan Parag. Sanju Samson himself is just 27, Heymyer is 25 while the senior players, Buttler (31), Chahal (31) and Boult (32) have a lot of years of cricket left in them. The RR camp will be hopeful for the next year as they look forward to 2023 now.
