“I am astonished” Faf du Plessis reacts to MS Dhoni’s re-appointment as CSK captain

Faf du Plessis and MS Dhoni

The Chennai Super Kings had announced a surprising decision prior to the start of IPL 2022. The men in yellow announced that the long-term captain MS Dhoni has been replaced by Ravindra Jadeja. CSK started the season poorly As they had managed to win only three out of the nine fixtures they played this season. The former CSK captain was reappointed after their turbulent start to the season.

Under Jadeja CSK managed to win only two of their eight matches. To the sheer disappointment of their fans CSK is having their worst start of the IPL season till date. Former CSK opener and current RCB captain Faf du Plessis has expressed his astonishment about the captaincy change mid season.

“I’m surprised that the captaincy change happened midseason, but I was also surprised at the way it happened the way before the season. So, it is like two surprises canceling each other out. Obviously, there’s no secret that when MS is there and he is the captain, he does get the best out of the players, and that has been a big part of CSK’s success.”

“Out of the last three games, two games we were not at the best of our ability, and the last game I think we played some really good cricket, but we were up against a team that seized the small moments. Usually, such moments generally falls to the team in good form.”

“Real small margins in the previous game. That’s the crucial thing about T20 cricket when you have momentum, keep it and when you start losing, it is about how quickly can you get it back,”

RCB will look to make their way to the play-offs simpler bye defeating Chennai Super Kings.
