“I had booked a hotel too” – Rajat Patidar’s father reveals postponing son’s wedding following RCB call-up

Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar was an unsold player in the mega auction of IPL 2022. However, when 22 year old Luvinth Sisodia got injured and was ruled out of the tournament, RCB chose to replace him with Rajat Patidar. And the 28 year did not disappoint. An unlikely knock of 112 by Patidar helped RCB power through into Qualifier 2 of IPL 2022.

Rajat Patidar also won the Man of the Match award in the Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants as he became only the 5th batsman in IPL history to score a century in the knock out stages of the tournament. However, things would have been different for the Madhya Pradesh lad, had he not been called up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Speaking to the Indian Express, Manohar said, “The plan was to get him married on May 9. It was supposed to be a small function and I had booked a hotel too in Indore.” He added, “The marriage was not supposed to be a grand affair, so we didn’t get invitation cards printed. I have booked a hotel for limited guests but the booking has been advanced as we plan to hold the function in July once he is free from his responsibility with the Madhya Pradesh Ranji team.”

RCB play the Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi stadium tonight at 7:30 in the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2022. The winner of the match will play the finals against the Gujarat Titans. This well and could be RCB’s best shot at the iconic trophy after reaching and losing the finals 3 times before. All eyes will be on the in-form Rajat Patidar as he himself would want to set the stage ablaze tonight again for RCB.
