Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pulled off a thrilling win over five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and they had multiple stars to be thankful of. While Marcus Stoinis singlehandedly propelled LSG to an above-par total, Ravi Bishnoi and Yash Thakur bowled brilliantly to keep MI’s run rate in check. But it was Mohsin Khan who sealed the deal for LSG with his impressive last over.
With only 11 runs to defend off the last over and that too against the likes of Tim David and Cameron Green, Khan bowled exceptionally well to win the game by five runs. The left-arm pacer was right on cue with his yorkers and cutters and never looked fazed. But Mohsin was not having a great day till that last over as he had already conceded 21 runs in his two overs.
In fact, Khan was having a mediocre season before this game. The Uttar Pradesh pacer had featured in only two matches prior to this game wherein he had scalped a solitary wicket at the expense of 42 runs in 3 overs. All of this is because Khan was recovering from an injury to his shoulder for which he also underwent surgery in October 2022. Notably, Khan had to undergo surgery to remove blood clots in his bowling shoulder last year.

Talking about the injury, Mohsin Khan revealed how it was almost a career-ending injury as the pacer could not even lift his bowling arm. The LSG pacer also revealed that if he had delayed his surgery even by a month, he would have lost his hand.
“Regarding my injury, I would first like to say that no cricketer should suffer this kind of condition. It was quite strange, my artery was blocked, my nerve was blocked. It was a very tough time and I had given up hope of playing cricket at one point because I was not able to even lift my hand, forget bowling,” Mohsin said at the post-match press conference.
“I was not able to straighten it (my hand), my physio worked alongside me. It was medical related, it was quite scary, as the doctor had said if I was late by another month they would have had to amputate my hand,” he added.
