“I would like to announce my retirement”- Suresh Raina confirms retirement from all forms of cricket for overseas T20 leagues

Former Chennai Super Kings star Suresh Raina announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Tuesday, September 6, brining an end to his domestic and Indian Premeir League career. He hadn’t played a T20 match since the match between CSK and Rajasthan Royals in 2021.
He took to Twitter and wrote: “It has been an absolute honour to represent my country & state UP. I would like to announce my retirement from all formats of Cricket. I would like to thank @BCCI, @UPCACricket, @ChennaiIPL, @ShuklaRajiv sir & all my fans for their support and unwavering faith in my abilities.”

Raina had earlier stated about his getting calls from overseas T20 franchises- South Africa, Sri Lanka and UAE.
“I will play in the Road Safety Series. T20 franchises from South Africa, Sri Lanka and UAE have contacted me but I am yet to take any decision,” Raina was quoted as saying by Dainik Jagran.
While Raina has left the IPL, Top Cricket Betting Advice sites suggest that CSK’s odds of winning the tournament in the future might fall down drastically.

CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan said Suresh Raina had spoken to the franchise owners about his decision of leaving IPL and wished him luck.
“Suresh Raina told us two days back about his decision that he is leaving IPL and we respect his decision and wish him luck. He is an integral part of CSK ever as he has done a lot for CSK till ten years, wish him luck for future,” Kasi Vishwanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings told ANI.
Raina had retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020 in a cereer spanning 13 years. He has played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20Is. In ODI, Rina gathered 5615 runs while in T20Is, he has ammased 1605 runs. He had also scored a ton on debut in Tests and is also the first Indian to score a ton in all three formats of the sport.
He represented CSK in 12 seasons and played an integral part for the four-time champions. He was also the part of the 2011 World Cup-winning team led by MS Dhoni.
