ICC bans international cricketer after he receives iPhone worth $750 as gift, check for details

Bangladeshi cricketer Nasir Hossain violated the International Cricket Council‘s (ICC) Anti-Corruption Code as a result of which the apex body banned him. He was handed a two-year ban, including six months’ suspension.
This happened after Hossain, along with other players, match officials, and team owners, allegedly involved in corruption-related activities in the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 league. In September 2023, Hossain was charged by the ICC for breaching the Anti-Corruption Code.

The reason for this was his failure to reveal the details of a gift. Hossain received an iPhone worth over $750 but did not give the receipt and did not cooperate with the investigation officials. The investigation was carried out by the Designated Anti-Corruption Official (DACO).
Breach of Article 2.4.3 of the Code, in that he failed to disclose to the Designated Anti-Corruption Official (without unnecessary delay) the receipt of a gift that was offered to him that had a value of over US$750, namely the gift of a new iPhone 12.ICC wrote in a statement
Nasir Hossain’s stats in international cricket
Nasir Hossain made his international debut back in 2011 against West Indies and last featured for his team in 2017. In 2011, he made his ODI and T20I debut as well. His ODI debut came against Zimbabwe, while his maiden T20I match was against West Indies.

He played 115 matches across the three formats. In 32 Test innings (19 matches), Hossain scored 1044 runs with the highest of 100 and scalped eight wickets. From 65 ODIs (52 innings), he scored 1281 runs with a century being his highest score, and picked up 24 wickets.
He featured in 21 T20Is (24 innings). From these matches, Hossain scored 370 runs and scalped seven wickets. An unbeaten 50 was his highest score in the shortest format.
