Pakistani all-rounder unhappy with fake news being spread about him, is angry for X used misusing Blue Tick.

On 11th August, X  user @rnawaz31888, who has 23.7k followers, posted a fake quote by Iftikhar Ahmed. The quote claimed that Iftikhar said that they feel like they’re playing against street children when ever they face India.

On the night of 16th August, Iftikhar Ahmad called out the user for posting the fake news and asked Elon Musk to take action against the user. He tweeted “I’ve been made aware of this statement which I’ve never made. In fact, no professional cricketer will make such a statement.”

Iftikhar asked everyone to report the account and to ask everyone to not share this fake news. Iftikhar was also unhappy that the user was misusing his Blue Tick to spread fake news. Fans from both India and Pakistan praised Iftikhar for calling out Nawaz for “spreading hate between both countries.

Despite playing only 2 ODIs this year, Iftikhar finds himself in the Asia Cup squad

Iftikhar Ahmad has only played two of eight ODIs Pakistan has played in 2023. He last played an ODI in April in 2022 until he made his comeback in May 2023. In the two games he scored 122 runs in the games he played, which included a 94* in a losing cause in the 5th match. He is in the 2023 Asia Cup squad despite only playing 2 games. He is also in the probable squad for the 2023 World Cup, thanks to great performances in the PSL.

In the upcoming Asia Cup, Iftikhar Ahmad will bat at 6 for Pakistan. He is known for his ball striking and is a handy right arm off spinner as well. He has played 4 tests for Pakistan since 2016, last playing in 2022. Iftikhar is also a regular in the T20I team, playing 49 games. He also played in the 2022 T20I World Cup in Australia.
