Team India pacer Umesh Yadav was allegedly cheated of Rs 44 lakh by his friend-turned-manager Shailesh Thakre under the pretext of purchasing property in his name in Nagpur. Yadav has registered an FIR for the same, and CP Amitesh Kumar at Koradi, Nagpur, is investigating the matter and booked Thakre under Sections 406, 420 of the IPC.
Yadav had handed Shailesh,37, his unemployed friend, the responsibility of being his manager on July 15, 2014, as the former was playing for India. He is a resident of Shivaji Nagar, while Thakre is a resident of the Koradi area.
And as Yadav was looking to buy land in Nagpur, he asked Thakre to handle this as the cricketer spends more time on the cricket field. Yadav transferred the money from his State Bank of India bank account at MSEB Colony in Koradi to Shailesh’s account. However, his friend did not work on anything for a year.

Shailesh Thakre started handling all the financial affairs of Umesh Yadav
Quoting the FIR, a police official told PTI, “Thakre gained the trust of Yadav over time. He started handling all the financial affairs of Umesh Yadav. He used to handle Yadav’s bank account, income tax, and other financial tasks.”
“Thakre located a plot in a barren area. He told Yadav he would get it for Rs 44 lakh. Yadav deposited Rs 44 lakh in Thakre’s bank account. However, Thakre purchased the plot in his name,” he added.
As per the FIR, Thakre used the money to buy the property in his own name. When Yadav found out about this trickery, he asked for the money, Thakre did not pay him back, nor did he transfer the property to Yadav’s name. Then Yadav lodged a complaint against Thakre, but no arrest is made yet.
