India will lock-horns with England from Friday, July 1 for the rescheduled fifth Test match at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The fifth match got postponed due to Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp. India is leading the five-match Test series by 2-1.

Also, regular India captain Rohit Sharma won’t be available because he has been tested Covid-19 positive. Vice-captain KL Rahul also has been ruled out due to groin injury. In his place, pacer Jasprit Bumrah will lead the team, and it’s for the first time since Kapil Dev that India will see a pacer as a captain. If India wins this Test, then it will be their first Test series win on English soil since 2007.

All eyes will be on Virat Kohli since he was in poor form for the past couple of months and hasn’t got a century since November 2019. He was in great form, although, in the warm-up Test match against Leicestershire. Cheteshwar Pujara has been included in the squad after his runs-filled County stint.
