On eve of their match against the Netherlands, the Indian Cricket Team had a huge Diwali party in their hotel. The team and their family all attended and the BCCI released a video of everyone enjoying and having a blast.
Some of the highlights in the video include Shubman Gill and Shardul Thakur wearing the same shade of green and laughing about it. Players came to the party with their families and everyone interacted with each other. In a dessert stall, a board was displayed with the phrase, “Count the memories, not the calories” written. Suryakumar Yadav was also made the babysitter, watching the kids of his teammates. The video ended with the entire team, coaching staff and their loved ones coming together for a group photo.
Later many cricketer’s posted photos of the party and wished their fans on the occasion of Diwali. KL Rahul posted a photo of the entire team and staff, while others posted photos of themselves and with their loved ones.

India continues assault on the Dutch bowlers
Choosing to bat first, the Indian team has constantly been attacking the Dutch bowlers in the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill built a partnership of 100 runs, with both scoring 100 runs. Gill departed for 51 while the Captain was dismissed for 61. Virat Kohli scored yet another half-century, but failed to reach 100 as he was bowled by van der Merwe. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are currently batting for India, with the duo already building a half century stand.
The result of the match between India and Netherlands won’t make much of a difference to India, as they have already qualified for the 1st semi-final. They will be facing New Zealand in the Wankhede Stadium on 15th November. This will be a rematch of the 2019 World Cup semi-final, in which India lost to New Zealand by 18 runs.
