Babar Azam-led Pakistan registered their first Test win in 365 days as they beat Sri Lanka by four wickets in the first Test on Thursday. Chasing 131in the fourth innings, Pakistan survived a scare as Imam-Ul-Haq guided them to a win. The southpaw scored an 84-ball 50* and held one end intact while Agha Salman finished things off with a six.
Captain Babar Azam (24 off 28) and first-inning double-centurion Saud Shakeel (30 off 38) made crucial contributions. While it looked like a walk in the park for the visitors, Prabath Jayasuriya ensured there is a thrilling finish to the game.
The left-arm spinner claimed four wickets in Pakistan’s second inning as Jayasuriya dismissed Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood, Babar Azam, and Sarfaraz Ahmed. The Sri Lankan spinner dismissed the opposition skipper in both innings and ensured Pakistan don’t just walk away with an easy win.
Nevertheless, it was a win for Babar Azam and Co. and Pakistan fans were over the moon after this victory. It was a win to celebrate as Pakistan won a Test match after almost a year. But as it is with the fans these days, a comparison was drawn instantly.
Indian fans mock their Pakistani counterparts for hyping a bilateral win

A Pakistani cricket fan took these comparisons to a whole another level. He/she compared Pakistan’s win in Galle with India’s infamous win against Australia at Gabba in the 2020-21 Border Gavaskar Trophy. In fact, the user rated Pakistan’s win way higher than India’s win only to get mocked by the Indian fans.
Not just Indian cricket fans but some Pakistani cricket fans were also left banging their heads after seeing this illogical comparison. A user also reminded his countryman that how India’s Gabba win was indeed one the greatest Test wins.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan lost to England 0-3 and could not win a match against New Zealand at home. The last time they won a Test match was way back on 28 July 2022, against Sri Lanka.
