As per a report by India Today, the BJP is contemplating making Shami contest for the polls in West Bengal and even reached out to him. But the 33-year-old has not made a decision yet.

Mohammed Shami won’t play IPL
In the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), Gujarat Titans will miss Mohammed Shami’s services as the star pacer won’t be playing in the league due to surgery on his Achilles heel. The IPL will be played from March 22 to May 26.
The injury came as a huge blow for the Titans as the star paceman played a crucial role in the team’s successes. Shami was also the Titans’ highest wicket-taker last year.
It is also uncertain whether Shami will recover in time to play in the T20 World Cup, which will be played in the West Indies and USA. The T20 World Cup will be played just a couple of days after the conclusion of the IPL.
