England will come to India for the forthcoming 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, starting in October. Next year, Ben Stokes and Company will be arriving in India for a five-match Test series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the same recently.
The five Tests will be played in Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamshala. It will be for the first time India will be playing an English side that now breathes Bazball.
Reacting to the same, England’s famous The Barmy Army took to Twitter to claim how it’s going to be fun to watch England win the ODI World Cup as well as the five-match Test series in India. They wrote: “Wow it’s going to be fun watching England win the World Cup and 5 Tests in India in the space of a few months.”

Indian fans mock Barmy Army for their early prediction
No doubt, like the Barmy Army, the Indian fans are ardent followers of cricket and they liked the idea of this banter starting months before the clash. The Indian fans invited the Barmy Army to India and said how it’s going to be great fun watching them face embarrassing defeat in the Indian subcontinent.
Indian pitches are slow and the other Test-playing nations have always found it tough to snatch victory. The ball turns a lot on the surface and with the two formidable Indian spin duo- Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, it’s safe to say that Ben Stokes and his team will find it difficult to play Bazball let alone win series. England last won a Test series in India in 2012-13 by 2-1.
