Indian Women’s Cricket team attended the Indian Men’s football team in their first game of the 2022 Asian Games.
India played their opening match against hosts China and lost the match 5-1.

Smriti Mandhana recently put up stories on her Instagram profile of her, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues and Devika Vaidya attending the first match of the Indian men’s football team in the 2022 Asian Games. She uploaded 2 stories, with the first of the pitch filled with the Indian team and their opponent, China. In the 2nd picture, she showed her teammates enjoying the match.
India lost their match against China 5-1. China scored the first goal in the 16th minute, but thanks to a sensational goal by Rahul K.P India equalized. At half time, the score was 1-1, but in the 2nd half China scored 4 goals and won the match 5-1. The Indian team had arrived late to China due to visa issues and they went into their match without any practice.
The Indian Women’s Cricket team is in China to participate in the 2022 Asian Games. They have been drawn in the quarter-finals of the tournament, with their first game to be held on 21st September.

India plays cricket for the first time in the Asian Games
Cricket was introduced in the Asian Games in 2010, when the multi-sport competition was held in Guangzhou. India did not play in 2010 and 2014. Cricket was not played in the 2018 Asian Games, but returned in the next edition.
The Indian Men’s and Indian women’s cricket team will be playing in the Asian Games for the first time. The 2022 Asian Games was postponed to 2023 due the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Women’s team is led by Harmanpreet Kaur, while the Men’s team is captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad.
The Women’s tournament began on 19th September, with the preliminary round starting first. India will play their first match on 21st September. Their opponent has not been drawn yet, but it will be between Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the winner between Hong Kong and Mongolia.
