While India vs Pakistan is the most-awaited cricket rivalry, India vs Bangladesh never fails to produce some sort of drama. The testament to the same was seen during the Emerging Asia Cup semifinal between the two teams on Friday. As India A and Bangladesh A locked horns in the second semifinal of the Emerging Asia Cup, Harshit Rana and Soumya Sarkar got into a verbal fight.
After Soumya Sarkar was dismissed by Yuvrajsinh Dodiya, Rana celebrated aggressively into the batter’s face. This did not go well with Sarkar who was still processing his dismissal. The Bangladesh batter then hurled a few words at Rana who did not hold back and asked Sarkar to leave the ground.
As the intensity of the argument increased, on-field umpires and Indian players intervened and asked both players to back off. Sai Sudarshan was even seen joining hands in front of Sarkar and asking him to leave the ground.
India A stage perfect comeback to beat Bangladesh A by 51 runs
Coming to the match, it was a thrilling contest that was eventually won by Yash Dhull’s India A. Batting first, the Boys in Blue posted 212/10. Captain Dhull led the charge with the bat, scoring an 85-ball 66. Abhishek Sharma (34 off 63), Sai Sudarshan (21 off 24), and Manav Suthar (21 off 24) also made a handy contribution.
In reply, Bangladesh got off to a quick start as Mohammad Naim (38 off 40) and Tanzid Hasan (51 off 56) stitched a 70-run opening partnership. However, Bangladesh A lost quick wickets and were bowled out for 160. Manav Suthar (3/32) and Nishant Sindhu (5/20) wreaked havoc in the middle and snatched a win from the opposition’s grasp.
With this win, India A set up a final’s clash with Pakistan A on Sunday (23 July). The arch-rivals have already met once in this tournament wherein India A came victorious. Now, it will be on Pakistan A to settle scores while Yash Dhull and Co. will aim for nothing less than a win.
