Inzamam Ul Haq appointed Pakistan’s Chief Selector, fans react
The former Pakistan captain has already served as the PCB Chief Selector in the past.

In what comes as a major development ahead of the ODI World Cup, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Inzamam Ul Haq as the Chairman of its Selection Committee. The former Pakistan cricketer who was there during the 2019 ODI World Cup has been given a second chance after Haroon Rasheed quit as PCB Chief Selector last month.
The cricket board announced the development through a tweet on Monday (7 August). “Former Pakistan captain Inzamam ul Haq has been appointed national men’s chief selector,” tweeted PCB. While Mohammad Hafeez was also in contention for the role, PCB went with experience in Inzamam.
Notably, Haq has already served in the position. He was PCB Chief Selector from 2016 to 2019 and also selected Pakistan’s squad for the 2019 World Cup where they bowed out from the group stage.

Inzamam Ul Haq’s first assignment will be selecting Pakistan’s squad for the ODI series against Afghanistan in Sri Lanka. After that, the former Pakistan captain will begin the hunt for perfect players for ODI World Cup while selecting the squad for the 2023 Asia Cup.
