India pacer Arshdeep Singh is currently plying his trade for Kent Cricket Club in the County Championship. Singh was a mainstay in India’s T20I squad and also played at the 2022 T20 World Cup. However, the left-arm pacer suddenly vanished from the scenes as Arshdeep last played for India way back in February this year.

However, the pacer will be making a comeback in the five-match T20I series against the West Indies. Singh is also included in the 15-member squad for the Asian Games scheduled for September-October this year.

While there is no doubt about Singh’s white-ball prowess, a question that keeps cropping up is why is the pacer not included in India’s red-ball setup. Considering how Singh is performing for Kent in the County Championship it would not be totally wrong to include him in India’s Test squad

Arshdeep Singh made his County debut for Kent Cricket back in June this year and impressed straight away. The left-arm pacer picked four wickets in the match and also troubled batters with his ability to swing the ball both ways.

He is still giving batters a hard time with his swinging deliveries. In the latest clip going viral on social media, Singh is seen puzzling Essex batter Paul Walter. The left-arm pacer leaves the batter baffled as Singh swung the ball a long way before knocking the top of off stump. The commentators reckoned it was a “beauty of a delivery from Arshdeep”. The pacer claimed two more wickets in the inning.

Now, with this video going viral, the question about Singh not playing Test cricket for India has once again popped up. Talking about Singh’s First-Class numbers, the pacer has claimed 33 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 28.24.
