Ishan Kishan made his Test debut for India on Wednesday as the Jharkhand cricketer took the wicketkeeping gloves in the first Test against the West Indies. Kishan was handed his Test debut cap by Virat Kohli and as it turned out, the 24-year-old had a decent outing on the first day. Kishan grabbed some good catches behind the stumps.
Not only that, the young wicketkeeper entertained everyone with his constant chatter from behind the stumps. While on a few instances, Kishan was caught sledging the West Indies batter, on the other instances, he was taking jibes at his own teammates, especially Shubman Gill.
As Gill and Kishan are known to share a really good bond, the wicketkeeper batter was warning his friend about Rohit Sharma’s anger. As it seemed from the stump mic conversation, Gill was involved in something that might have angered and hence Kishan was warning the batter about the abuses he will be getting from Sharma.
“Rohit bhai fir gaali denge tereko,” Kishan was heard saying to Gill on the stump mic.

The new Indian wicketkeeper was also busy setting the fields as Ishan Kishan instructed Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal to stand in the right positions. The 24-year-old was heard asking both Kohli and Jaiswal to move a bit before the bowler delivered the ball. Kishan was also consistently lauding Ashwin for his good bowling.
Talking about the match so far, India bundled West Indies for 150 as Ashwin took a five-wicket haul, his 33rd in Test cricket. Ravindra Jadeja also claimed three wickets while Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur grabbed a wicket each.
In reply to West Indies’ 150, India have already scored 80 runs without a casualty. Rohit Sharma (30*), and Yashaswi Jaiswal (40*) are standing firm at the crease.
