India’s wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan left commentator Aakash Chopra speechless with his timely remark after the Jharkhand cricketer was compared to former India captain MS Dhoni. During the third India vs West Indies ODI, Chopra tried to mock Kishan for the wicketkeeper’s decision to review a stump-out decision.

As Kishan asked for the review and it turned out in the batter’s favor, Chopra said that Kishan might come from the same state as Dhoni but he won’t have the same success as the former India skipper. “You might be coming from Ranchi, Ishan. But you are not MS Dhoni,” Chopra said on air.

Right then, Kishan was heard saying “Haan, fir theek hain (Then it’s okay)” on the stump mic. This perfect timing made RP Singh and Nikhil Chopra burst into laughter while Chopra tried to come up with a reply. He then quipped, “How sweet Ishan. We love you.” Chopra then also shared the clip on Twitter as he wrote, “We love you, Ishan”

Ishan Kishan West Indies tour

Talking about Ishan Kishan’s performances on this tour to the Caribbean so far, the 25-year-old has been in an amazing touch. While Kishan scored a brisk half-century in the second innings of the second Test, the wicketkeeper batter scored three half-centuries in three ODIs he played.

Where other Indian batters struggled, Kishan scored quickfire fifties and ended up as the highest run-getter in the three matches. Ishan Kishan managed 184 runs at an average of 61.33 and at a strike rate of 11.52. He also won the Player of the Series award for his consistent performances.

Now, as Kishan will also be featuring in the five-match T20I series, the wicketkeeper batter will look to continue his impressive run in the shortest format as well.
