MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli share a good camaraderie between them. Dhoni, who is known for his calm and composed disposition has had moments when he loses his cool. He was seen screaming at his teammates for their mistakes. Well, once he lost his cool on Virat Kohli also, the incident was recalled by Ishant Sharma.
Ishant recently appeared in an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia on the latter’s YouTube Channel. Ishant talked in length about his career, certain incidents, and the dressing room scenes, including the time when Kohli was at the receiving end of Dhoni’s anger.
“The Test match against Australia had reached a deadlock, and Cheeku (Virat Kohli) got out. We were playing Shikhar Dhawan’s first match, and in the second innings, the Test match became challenging.
“We managed to win, but it got stuck in the second innings. Shikhar couldn’t bat due to a thumb fracture. Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni) said to Cheeku after the match, ‘When you know we have a shortage of batsmen, why did you attempt that shot?’ He didn’t get angry, but his words made Virat realize.”
Ishant Sharma revealed his funny first interaction with Virat Kohli
Ishant Sharma was a shy guy when he first started playing cricket and he used to wear a small lower. He said how, when he met Kohli for the first time, the latter suggested he buy a lower of his own size. “Bhai lower to lele apne size ka (but a lower of your size),” Kohli had told Ishant back then.
Meanwhile, Kohli is currently enjoying his break after the recently-concluded World Test Championship (WTC) Final where India were thrashed by Australia by 209 runs. Kohli will be next seen in action next month in the first Test against West Indies.
