Zaheer Khan corrected Ishant Sharma and said he did not say to Virat Kohli that his career has ended. He actually told the former India captain that there were only two players who scored 300 after their catch was dropped.

First was Graham Gooch who scored 300 after Kiran More dropped his catch and the second was Brendon McCullum who reached the triple hundred after Kohli dropped him. Zaheer said when he told Kohli this, he got angry because he wouldn’t have felt good about the same.

Interestingly, that match also turned out to be Zaheer Khan’s Test match in his international career. Both he and Ishant have surprisingly, 311 wickets each in Test cricket with 11 fifers and one ten-wicket haul. Zaheer has retired from all forms of cricket but Ishant still hasn’t; he last played an international match back in December 2021.
