Jasprit Bumrah
As per recent reports, India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), where he gives her services to five-time champions Mumbai Indians. Because Bumrah has not been able to recover from his back issues, he is likely to undergo surgery as well and may miss the World Test Championship in June also, where India can play the final with Australia.
The medical team has advised the 29-year-old to have surgery due to the recurrences of his back issues. The decision on this will soon be taken after consulting with Bumrah and the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Since last September, Bumrah is on the sidelines. He missed the 2022 Asia Cup, as well as the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia as well. He attempted his comeback in September during the home series against Australia last year but as the injury resurfaced, he was ruled out of the all-important World Cup tournament. Later, he would miss the New Zealand and Bangladesh tours as well last year.
But the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) had put his name on the squad list for the ODI series against Sri Lanka at home in January. Bumrah complained of stiffness and ended up not playing the game at all. Because of this discomfort, he is not playing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy also, which India have retained 2-0.

Many fans on Twitter have accused Jasprit Bumrah of playing in the cash-rich league but missing out on India’s matches due to injury. But now that the news has emerged of his being ruled out of the cricketing extravaganza, here is how they have reacted to the same:
Last month, India skipper Rohit Sharma said that as Bumrah is a very important member of the playing XI, the BCCI is giving him all the time he wants to get fully recovered. “We are in constant touch with the physios and doctors in NCA. The medical team will give him as much time he wants,” Rohit had told the reporters.
Fans and Team India have crossed their fingers in the hope of seeing their tearaway pacer make a comeback with a hundred percent fitness because the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup will be played in India later this year, and Bumrah is expected to play a major role.
