An old video of former Pakistan skipper Javed Miandad has been doing rounds on the internet after Pakistan got knocked out of the 2023 ODI World Cup. In that video, Miandad made a bizarre remark involving religion. The video first surfaced three years ago, in 2020 after the Bhoomi Poojan of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

He said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s decision to build the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is a blessing in disguise for the Muslims, saying the Hindus will turn into Muslims after visiting the temple.

Those Hindus visiting the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will come out as Muslims. It is our firmly held belief that our faith (Islam) will shine its light on those who visit places that are connected to our roots.
Miandad said in that viral video.

He added:

Modi may have done wrong by getting the Ram Mandir built in Ayodhya, but it will work as a blessing in disguise for us. I have full faith in Allah that this will be the place from where Muslims will once again rise.
