“Utter chaos,” Jonny Bairstow and English team unhappy after 38 hour journey to Guwahati

The English cricket team has finally arrived in India after a 38 hour journey to Guwahati. The defending champions landed in the city in Assam on the night of 28th September, ahead of their warm-up match with India.
Jonny Bairstow went on Instagram and expressed his frustration. As the team were made to travel in economy class, and the English wicket keeper called the experience, “Utter chaos.” He further added how the last leg coming in has “been some trip.”
England will play India in the warm up match on 30th September in the Assam Cricket Association Stadium, Guwahati. They will then face Bangladesh on the same ground on 2nd September. The England Cricket Team will play the first match of the 2023 ICC ODI Cricket World Cup against New Zealand on 5th October.
England’s quest to retain the title of World Champions
Currently England are the defending champions of the World Cup. They won the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup, defeating New Zealand in a thriller that included the first super over in ODIs. They are led by wicket-keeper batsman, Jos Buttler.
The 15-man squad includes some of the best batters in the world, such as Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes. The side includes all rounders such as Sam Curran, Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone, while the bowling attack is led by pacers like Mark Wood and Reece Topley. The explosive Jason Roy was dropped from the squad for rising star, Harry Brook.
England go into the quadrennial tournament as favorites, especially with the return of Ben Stokes in the side after he called off his retirement. They play their first match against New Zealand on the 5th October in the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Their recent form into the tournament has been strong, with the team winning their ODI series against Ireland, New Zealand and Bangladesh.
