“Just phenomenal”- Twitter goes crazy as Jos Buttler’s 4th ton against RCB power Rajasthan into finals
Jos Buttler
In what was a thriller between the two Royals in the Qualifer 2 of IPL, between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the former crushed the latter to secure the final berth. With Jos Buttler’s fourth IPL ton, RR beat RCB by 7 wickets to reach their first finals since 2008 in the inaugural season and came out victorious under the captaincy of Shane Warne. RR will now face Gujarat Titans in the finals.
But this match will be remembered for Jos Buttler’s fourth ton and RR’s under pressure bowling attack. In what was seen a superb display of bowling spell, RR’s Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy bagged three wickets to restrict RCB to 157. And when RR batters walked out onto the field, Jos Buttler, whose bat was silent in a couple of previous matches thundered. Facing 60 balls, he smashed an unbeaten 106 runs including 10 fours and 6 sixes. Overall, he scored 824 runs in 16 innings with four centuries and four half-centuries. He also became the 3rd player in history after Virat Kohli and David Warner to score 750+ runs in an IPL season.

RR’s bowling attack vs RCB
But before Jos Buttler, the credit for crushing RCB’s hopes must be given to RR’s two bowlers Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy. When it looked RCB having getting heavier on RR, these two had sent back the dangerous batters to restrict them.
Prasidh Krishna first gave a breakthrough by dismissing Virat Kohli. He later sent back the big fish in the form of Dinesh Karthik who is beyong a a beauty when it comes to last over batting. Krishna then delivered a toe-crushing yorker to Wanindu Hasaranga and uprooted the stumps.
On the other hand, Obed McCoy first trapped RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, then Mahipal Lomror and Harshal Patel. He had also grabbed a spectacular low catch to dismiss Glenn Maxwell. But Ravichandran Ashwin proved to be the most effective as he dismissed Rajat Patidar who had taken his good form from the Eliminator to the Qualifier 2 and smashed 58 runs off 13 balls.
Overall, RR batters’s Yashsvi Jaiswal scored 21 off 13 balls and Sanju Samson scored 23 runs off 21 balls and all the work of RR was done by the English man Jos Buttler alone.
