In the match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), the latter set a target of 153/8 on Friday, April 29 at the MCA Stadium. Kagiso Rabada helped PBKS to restrict LSG’s innings with his brilliant four-wicket haul.

Talking about the match, Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. LSG openers Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul walked in and the former scored 46 runs in 37 balls by smashing 4 fours and 2 sixes. KL Rahul only scored 6 runs in 11 balls.

Among the batters only de Kock and Deepak Hooda added more runs to the scoreboard. In the fourth ball of the 12th over, Sandeep Sharma bowled a short and outside off one. De Kock slashed it but it got edged and the keeper caught it. The umpire turned down the appeals of the keeper and the bowler but de Kock already had decided to walk off. There was some great level of sportsmanship displayed by de Kock and Sandeep Sharma also patted him on his back.

Deepak Hooda got dismissed due to a run out. In the 3rd ball of the 13th over, Arshdeep Singh bowled a short one and Krunal Pandya pulled it wide of deep square leg. The batsmen took one run and decided to go for another one. Jonny Bairstow picked it up and threw it towards the bowler’s end. But there, he managed to hit the stumps and when it was taken upstairs, Deepak Hooda had to walked back to the dressing room.

Apart from them, Jason Holden scored 11 off 8 balls with a six, Dushmantha Chameera played a knock of 17 runs in 10 balls with 2 sixes. Mohsin Khan had hit a six and a four to score 13 off 6 balls. At the end, LSG lost 8 batters and set a target of 154 runs to PBKS.

Kagiso Rabada completed his four-wicket haul by dismissing KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni, and Dushmantha Chameera. In his 4 overs, he conceded 38 runs at an economy rate of 9.50. Also,he has most wickets after 58 innings in IPL. 4 more than Malinga. Rahul Chahar scalped 2 wickets and Sandeep Sharma picked one wicket.
