While speaking to the Press Trust of India, Kapil Dev spoke about the 2023 Asia Cup and what lies in the future for the Indian Cricket Team. Dev is right now in Kashmir, attending the inaugural J&K Open Golf Tournament as he is the Vice-President of the Professional Golf Tour of India.

Kapil Dev thinks putting the tag of “favorites” on India is not required and believes finishing top 4 is important. After that, it is all a stroke of luck. He said. “We can’t say right now that we are favorites, of course our team is very good. Heart says something else, mind says no we have to work very hard. I know our team, I don’t know about other teams, so I would say it is unfair for me to give a blank answer. As far as India team is concerned, it is ready to play and win the championships…they should play passionately, enjoy themselves.”
