On Monday (September 25), former India opener Gautam Gambhir shocked the fans by uploading a video of former India captain Kapil Dev who was tied with ropes and two men took him inside a room. The video immediately went viral but instead of paying heed to Gambhir’s concern, netizens ended up criticizing him.

Gambhir captioned the video with: “Anyone else received this clip, too? Hope it’s not actually @therealkapildev and that Kapil Paaji is fine!

It’s important to note that nothing can be confirmed about the video. Netizens pointed out that the clip was from an ad clip and advised Gambhir to refrain from sharing such videos that look misleading.

Netizens blast Gautam Gambhir for sharing the video of Kapil Dev 

Some fans called out Gautam Gambhir for his “disgusting” way of viewership and asked him to respect the legends. Fans did not like the way the former cricketers fell prey to “cheap” advertisements for money.

Kapil Dev was last seen in Varanasi along with Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, and other greats of the game. They attended the foundation stone laying ceremony of the International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi.

Kapil Dev in his illustrations career played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs. In both formats, he scored 5248 and 3783 runs and scalped 434 and 253 wickets respectively. In the 1983 Cricket World Cup, he led the Men in Blue to their first title by beating West Indies.

Gambhir, on the other hand, is providing his commentary during the three-match ODI series between India and Australia. Known for his explosive comments Gambhir recently headlines when he issued a warning to India to not expect much from Suryakumar Yadav in the ODI World Cup after his fifty against Australia.
