Sunrisers Hyderabad were able to restrict Mumbai Indians to just 190 and snatch a close victory last night thanks to some spectacular bowling by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umran Malik. While the former bowled a maiden wicket penultimate over, Umran ended his spell of 3 overs with figures 3/23. Malik also moved up places to 4th in the Purple Cap race. Umran Malik now has 21 wickets in 13 matches.
After the game ended, it was all smiles for the SRH camp who still remain hopeful of making it into the qualifiers of this years IPL. Although their fate still depends in the results of other matches. However, amidst the celebrations, there was an interview that Bhunveshwar Kumar took of Umran Malik. Talking about the youngster’s bowling and celebration.

One of the questions Bhuvi asked Umran Malik was of his celebration, which was quite similar to Dale Steyn’s when the South African used to bowl. Umran Malik laughingly answered the question saying, ,”In the nets, the umpire is Dale Steyn sir and every time I take a wicket, he does the punch celebration, so that’s how it started and now I celebrate that way every time I take a wicket in the match”
Umran Malik has been praised by many pundits and former cricketers since his debut in the IPL. He also broke the record of bowling the fastest ball in IPL 2022 and second fastest in IPL history, clocking 157 against Delhi Capitals. While, the player has been expensive at times, having an average economy rate of over 9, there is no doubt that he is the fastest bowler that India have right now.
