Young Mohsin grabs three wickets
In the first innings, Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. LSG started with Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul with former scoring 46 runs in 37 balls by smashing 4 fours and 2 sixes. LSG’s In-form batsman KL Rahul only scored 6 runs in 11 balls and this gave a glimmer of hope to the Punjab sides.
During Sandeep Sharma’s over, De Kock slashed his ball but it got edged and the keeper caught it. Apart from him, only Deepak Hooda had kept the scoreboard moving but a run-out from Jonny Bairstow sent him back.
Kagiso Rabada completed his four-wicket haul by dismissing KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni, and Dushmantha Chameera. PBKS’s response was a miserable one as apart from Mayank Agarwal and Jonny Bairstow, no one could play a good knock. Opener Mayank Agarwal had scored 25 runs off 17 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. He then gave his wicket to Dushmantha Chameera.
Chameera bowled a full ball on the middle and Agarwal creamed it but because it was a full ball, he didn’t get the elevation and the ball went to the left of Rahul who grabbed it well. In-form batsman Shikhar Dhawan also failed to score as in 15 ball he scored just 5 runs. Jonny Bairstow then played a knock of 32 off 28 balls with 5 fours but Chameera dismissed him.
It was Mohsin Khan who conceded 24 runs in his 4 overs by picking 3 wicket of the dangerous Liam Livingstone- who had scored 18 off 16 with 2 sixes- Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Chahar.
In the 13th over, Mohsin came to attack and delivered a slow ball on a length outside off. Livingstone shuffled across and tried to scoop it over the keeper’s head but couldn’t connect it and instead de Kock took the grabbed it.
