The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have found a gem of a bowler in Mayank Yadav. The 21-year-old pacer, who made his debut in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has now broken his record by bowling the fastest delivery this season in a match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. He unleashed a fiery 156.7 kph delivery which has now become the fastest delivery in this IPL.

After LSG put up 181/5 in their 20 overs, RCB started their innings with a bang. The pair of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli gave a quick start to the innings, but their stay at the crease did not last for long.

When the two openers were dismissed, it was time for Yadav to destroy RCB’s batting line-up. The wrecker-in-chief made the dangerous Glenn Maxwell his first victim. The Aussie batter found no chance to score as he departed for a duck after playing two deliveries.

Cameron Green then took a long walk back to the dugout for a paltry nine off nine balls courtesy of Yadav’s pace. Then in the 15th over, Yadav sent Rajat Patidar to packing for 29 runs off 21 balls.
