Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis was hailed by the fans on social media for playing with an injury in his team’s game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). As images of Plessis playing with taping around his abdomen surfaced online, fans hailed the RCB skipper for his commitment and determination. Notably, du Plessis not only played with injury but also hit a half-century to settle the nerves in the RCB camp.

As the hosts lost two wickets- Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror early in the chase of 227, du Plessis steadied the ship for RCB with Glenn Maxwell. The pair put on a 126-run partnership for the third wicket. The better part about this partnership was these 126 runs were scored in just 61 balls.

While Glenn Maxwell was dismissed after playing a blazing knock of 76 (36), du Plessis, stayed for a few more overs and scored 62 off 33 balls before perishing to Moeen Ali. During his knock, the RCB captain was seen in pain and receiving treatment from the team physio. It was then du Plessis was captured with a taping on his abdomen.

While du Plessis among the runs was not too surprising, Maxwell thrashing CSK bowlers for fun stood out for the RCB fans. Usually, Maxwell fails to perform against Chennai and Ravindra Jadeja is his negative matchup. However, the RCB all-rounder turned his fortunes around this time and that too in a dominant way.

Maxwell thrashed Ravindra Jadeja for fun at the Chinnaswamy. The RCB batter tonked two sixes against Jadeja, both straight down the ground. On both occasions, Maxwell made room and then hit over the bowler’s head.
