England pacer Ollie Robinson has been getting some rough treatment from Australia ever since he gave Usman Khawaja an abusive send-off. Although the England pacer admitted that he made a mistake in the “heat of the moment” and he has nothing against Khawaja, Robinson’s comments about Australia not playing aggressive cricket has drawn a lot of reactions.
After Ricky Ponting, Ian Healy, Allan Donald, and Matthew Hayden, Michael Clarke has taken a dig at Robinson. The former Australia captain did not mince his words while warning the Englishman to “shoosh”. Clarke said that Ollie Robinson would have not even made it into the playing XI if the likes of Mark Wood and Jofra Archer were fit.
“He needs to shoosh,” Clarke said on the Big Sports Breakfast. “If England were fully fit you wouldn’t even get a game, Ollie. If Jofra Archer was playing, or if (Mark) Wood had been playing and was fully fit, old mate — I don’t know what town he plays for — he’d be back playing clubbies.
“… I actually don’t know what he’s doing. If James Anderson is saying all this, he’s got street cred. He’s played 180 Test matches , he’s got a lot of wickets. This dude has been around for five minutes,” added Clarke.

Michael Clarke also takes a dig at Brendon McCullum
The former Australia skipper also took a dig at England coach Brendon McCullum for spreading “ultimate positivity”. Referring to Robinson’s claims about McCullum’s dressing room speech after the defeat in the first Ashes Test where the England coach said that it felt like a win, Clarke said he don’t understand how is it possible to feel like you have won after a loss.
“To me when you win it feels like you win, when you lose it feels like you lose. If you had have had a draw, then you can think about saying that but you actually lost,” Clarke said. “…. That’s called the ultimate positivity. It felt like a win when you lost? That’s a different feeling to what I ever remember when we lost.”
