With the Pakistan team on break and many of their players playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and International League T20 (ILT20), Babar Azam decided to interact with fans. He started his space on X, called “From Pitch to Mic,” where he spoke with fans and held a Q&A.
During the interaction, his teammate Mohammad Rizwan joined in. He immediately asked the Pakistani star if he could ask a question and Azam allowed. He asked when the 29-year-old is planning to get married, to which Azam replied he knew he would ask something like this and told them they’ll discuss this in private.
Mujhe pata that aapne yehi sawaal karenge. Murshid, aapko meian akele mein samjhata hu (I knew you're going to ask this question. I will tell you in private).Babar Azam to Mohammad Rizwan
The former Pakistan captain then spoke about how the media used to keep linking him to someone, making people believe he was finally married. Rizwan then admitted that more than him, his wife is worried about whom Azam is going to marry.
Babar Azam calls RCB legend his dream batting partner
During the same interaction with fans, a fan asked Babar Azam which batter he would love to bat with. Without any hesitation he named RCB and South Africa legend, AB de Villiers. He stated how he’s always faced him but wanted to bat with him once. The South African then replied to him he would love to bat with Azam as well.
Azam recently gave up captaincy after a disastrous 2023 World Cup campaign. Later he didn’t have a good tour of Australia, scoring only 126 runs in 6 innings. He did regain some form in the tour of New Zealand, where he scored three consecutive half centuries. Pakistan will now travel to England in May to play five T20Is. After that Pakistan will travel to North America for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
