India pacer Mohammed Shami is reportedly set to have a lot of problems before the 2023 Asia Cup. The Asia Cup is set to start on August 30th and India will play their first match on September 2 against Pakistan.

Ahead of the Asia Cup, Shami, as per a report by Aaj Tak, was ordered by the court to get bail within 30 days, and so was his brother Mohammed Hasib. The court case involves his estranged wife Hasin Jahan who appealed to the court for the same.

This order might prove problematic for Shami because of the Asia Cup. The case has been going on since 2018.

In 2018, Hasin Jahan made a startling revelation that Mohammed Shami was allegedly having extra-marital affairs and even accused him of assaulting her. The local police in Kolkata issued an arrest warrant against the cricketer but put a stay on it.

But in January this year, the Alipore court ordered him to pay Rs 50, 000 as monthly compensation to Jahan. But she wanted to remove the stay which is why she approached the Supreme Court in May 2023 and also accused Shami of having illicit relations with prostitutes during the BCCI tour.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami has not played an international match since last playing the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia in June this year. He was given rest by the management to use him well during the important tournaments.

Before the WTC Final, he gave his services to the Gujarat Titans in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the tournament, like the previous year, he played a crucial role in helping GT reach the final, by scalping 28 wickets in 17 matches. But Hardik Pandya and Company lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the summit clash.
