Many people wished him for his recovery, hoping to see him return to play for India soon. One comment praised him for giving his 100% during the World Cup, despite being in pain throughout the tournament. He also demeaned Shami’s former captain, Hardik Pandya, who was ruled out of the World Cup

In the tweet, the fan racially insulted Pandya, calling him a “chapri kalu” and further demeaned him by claiming that Pandya was faking an injury to play in the IPL. Shami ended up liking the tweet, which led to the reply getting more and more clout.
