India had a humiliating loss In the 1st Test of their tour of South Africa. They failed to perform with the bat and ball, as they lost by an innings and 32 runs. One of the things that was most criticized was their bowling performances, as they conceded 408 runs.
India stepped up in the 2nd Test as the pacers bowled out South Africa for only 55 runs. It is their lowest score since readmission into international cricket. Mohammed Siraj picked up 6 wickets out of the 10, with all of his victims edging the ball to either the slip or keeper.
Siraj bowled a spell of 9 overs and picked up the wickets of Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Tony de Zorzi, David Bedhingham and Kyle Verryene. All of these 6 scalps were a part of the top 7 of SA’s batting line up. Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar contributed with two wickets each. Kumar bowled only 14 balls, but didn’t give any runs away.
Fans praise Mohammed Siraj for his brilliant spell
Many fans were awestruck by India’s brilliant bowling performance. The one change everyone noticed was how tight and fuller the Indian team were bowling, forcing the Proteas players to edge the ball.
They heavily praised Siraj’s performance, many joking how he saw he mistook the South Africans for Sri Lankans. In a funny coincidence, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 55 during the World Cup by India, where Siraj had picked up 3 wickets. This is also Siraj’s 3rd five-wicket-haul in Tests.

Going to bat, India managed to get a lead in the 10th over itself. Yashasvi Jaiswal departed for a duck, but Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma put up an impressive partnership of 55. Gill departed for a well made 36 before being dismissed. Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer are in the middle as or now for India.
