It was an unlucky day for Chennai Super Kings because they got bundled for their second lowest score in IPL; setting a target of a mere 98 for the Mumbai Indians on Thursday, May 12 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Talking about the match, Mumbai had won the toss and opted to bowl first. CSK openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad walked out to bat, but the former had to walk back after dismissed for a golden duck by Daniel Sams for an LBW.

What interesting happened during Conway’s dismissal was that it wasn’t an LBW when the replays were shown on the screen. Conway had wanted to take DRS but couldn’t. Because there was no electricity at the Wankhede, Devon Conway couldn’t take a DRS and so CSK didn’t have a strong opening as they have expected.

Ruturaj Gaikwad got out for 7 in 6 balls. Moeen Ali was trapped by Sams again for a duck. Robin Uthappa had the same story like Conway as he too got dismissed for an LBW but couldn’t take it due to power cut.

Then entered MS Dhoni, who stayed at the crease till the end. He scored 36 runs in 33 balls with 2 sixes and 4 fours to take CSK’s innings to 97. When Shivam Dube, DJ Bravo and others lost their wickets quickly, MS Dhoni dragged the innings before Mukesh Chaudhary’s wicket bundle them out in just 16 overs.
