A video surfaced online on Friday, October 14 where MS Dhoni could be seen practicing in the nets. As the video has gone viral, fans are speculating that the 41-year-old has been gearing up for the Indian Premier League in 2023.

Watch the video below:

IPL 2023 could be Dhoni’s last appearance in the cash-rich Indian league. He hinted at representing the Chennai Super Kings, maybe one last time.

It’s simple reason: it will be unfair to not play in Chennai and say thank you. Mumbai is one place, where, as a team and as an individual, I have got a lot of love and affection. But it wouldn’t be nice to the CSK fans,” Dhoni had said during IPL 2022.

And also, hopefully, next year there will be an opportunity where the teams will be travelling so it will be like (saying) thank you to all the different places where we will be playing games at different venues,” he added.

This year, MS Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy just a couple of days before the start of the IPL. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja became the captain after then. But Dhoni again handled the role in the later half of the series.

He is the most successful captain in the league alongside Mumbai Indians skippers, Rohit Sharma. Under Dhoni, CSK lifted the coveted trophy four times (2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021). CSK holds the record for most appearances (11) in the playoffs, while in the final, Men in Yellow have appeared nine times, the most by any team.

He has played 234 matches and amassed 4878 runs at an average of 39.20 and a strike rate of 135.20. His highest score was an 84*-run knock off 48 balls against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019.
