On Thursday (April 13) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the fans saw another dramatic match of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). What was great about the match was Vintage Dhoni’s unbeaten 32 off just 17 balls.

When everyone thought it was impossible for the home team to chase down 176 against RR, Dhoni, and Ravindra Jadeja rocked. But they couldn’t win the match. 2.2 crore people watched the match when Dhoni and Jadeja were playing on Jio Cinema, IPL’s digital partner.

The best thing about the two players was both of them reached milestones in this match. While Jadeja became the ninth Indian bowler with 200 IPL wickets, Dhoni became the first IPL captain to lead a team 200 times. But after the match, Dhoni revealed that he had no idea that it was his 200th match.

Overall I was very happy with the bowlers. I really didn’t know it was my 200th (game as CSK skipper) and milestones don’t really matter for me, it is about how you’re performing and the results,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.

MS Dhoni’s knock was a treat for the eyes. At 41, Thala smashed three sixes and a four and remained unbeaten at 32 off 17 balls. He and the star all-rounder Jadeja were all guns blazing in the penultimate over. A total of 19 runs were scored which turned the table.

Sandeep Sharma was given the job to defend seven runs. He kept his cool despite MS Dhoni’s sixes, but when the Yellow Army needed five runs from three balls, a yorker from Sandeep ended the match in his team’s favor by three runs.
