Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Rinku Singh rose to fame in the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when the UP-born cricketer almost propelled his team to victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a high-scoring thriller. While Rinku could not win it for KKR back then, the Southpaw did it this year, in IPL 2023. The KKR batter hit five consecutive sixes against Gujarat Titans to win it for KKR. 

This historic moment was etched in the memory of the fans forever. Meanwhile, Rinku rose to more fame and became the talk of the town. As is the case nowadays, star players who rise to fame attract advertisements and Singh was also expected to feature in a few ads. The Cred app, known for doing out-of-the-box things while shooting ads, was expected to rope in Rinku in their shoot.

However, it did not happen and the KKR player was not so impressed. Rinku took a dig at the Cred app for ignoring him. Singh shared a tweet on Monday while quoting a post from the Cred app’s social media. “Mujhe laga tha us din ke 6s dekh kar call karne vale ye log….. 😛 kidding …,” tweeted Rinku.

Virat Kohli mighty impressed with Rinku

While Rinku Singh’s heroics might not have landed him a lucrative advertising contract, the UP cricketer has earned some high words of praise from India’s best batter of the current generation, Virat Kohli. The former India captain has lauded Rinku for his five consecutive sixes and has said that he can’t do such things. 

“What the youngsters are doing today is amazing to see. Look at this IPL, I couldn’t even think of doing stuff what these young guys are doing. Just the other night, Rinku Singh hits 5 Sixes in last 5 balls which is amazing & never happened something like that. Coming in an hitting five sixes in a row to win a match, I mean what level is this? So that transition is happening is great. It is great to see such youngsters coming up,” he said.
