With the power hitting from Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia, Gujarat Titans defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets on Wednesday, April 27 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Chasing the target of 195, Gujarat Titans batting line up showed their brilliant skills and looked effortless in chasing the score in a thriller. But SRH bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan wasn’t happy with Marco Jansen in the penultimate over of the game. Marco Jansen had the responsibility to defend the 22 runs in the last over. Many a times, bowlers have easily done that but on the crease were Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan who looked extremely fearless.

The pressure of the final over in front of dangerous batsmen was too much for Jansen and he kept delivering full length balls which angered the Sri Lankan legend. He totally lost his control when Jansen tried to go wide of Rashid but the latter got under the ball to convert it into a full toss and smashed a huge six.

Rahul Tewatia played an unbeaten 40 off 21 balls by smashing 4 fours and 2 sixes. In the penultimate over, on the crease were as cool as cucumber Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia who were to smash somehow 22 runs. Rashid Khan showed his power hitting skills and skyed three huge sixes from Marco Jansen’s deliveries. He scored an unbeaten 31 off in just 11 runs with four sixes.

Gujarat Titans have just lost a single match by 8 wickets which they had to face against SRH in their previous game. So SRH became the first and only team in IPL 2022 to beat the strong Gujarat Titans so far. With this victory, Gujarat Titans reached the top position on the points table.
