On 25th October, Australian opener David Warner scored his 2nd century of the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup against Netherlands. This is his 22nd ODI century and he has now scored the 2nd most ODI World Cup centuries with 6. Rohit Sharma currently has the most centuries, with Warner and Sachin Tendulkar at second positions.
Coming in to open in the first innings, Warner launched an assault on the Dutch bowlers. He scored 104 runs in 93 balls with a strike rate of 111.82. He hit 11 boundaries and 3 sixes, while building important partnerships with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. After scoring his century, he had done two of his iconic celebrations. One was his iconic leap and the 2nd was the Pushpa celebration, which he had also done after he scored a century against Pakistan.
Thanks to centuries by Warner and Glenn Maxwell and 50s by Smith, Labuschagne, Australia posted a huge score of 399. Logan van Beek picked up 4 wickets, but conceded 74 runs in his quota of 10 overs. Bas de Leede was also not forgiven by the Australians, as they hit him for 115 runs. Glenn Maxwell scored a century after 25 months and also scored the 4th fastest ODI century in just 40 balls. This century is also the fastest in the ODI World Cup, breaking Heinrich Klassen’s record.

It is well known how much David Warner loves the Telugu film, Pushpa, which stars Allu Arjun. He had made reels on the movie and also did the Pushpa celebration after scoring a century against Pakistan. Many fans want him to have a role in the upcoming sequel thanks to the celebration.
