India playing the final of the 2023 Asia Cup against Sri Lanka on Sunday (September 17) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Right from the first over, India started dominating the match. Even before the completion of five overs, Sri Lanka’s five batters took a long walk back to the dugout.
Bumrah gave the first breakthrough when he dismissed opener Kusal Perera on the third ball of the first over. And then it was Mohammed Siraj’s show. He sent the other opener Pathum Nissanka to packing on the first ball of the fourth over.
And before anyone could guess what was happening, Siraj got rid of three more batters in the same over. On the third ball, he dismissed Sadeera Samarawickrama and followed it with the wicket of Charith Asalanka. His fourth victim in that over was Dhananjaya de Silva.
Siraj then completed his fifer when he dismissed Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka for a duck in the sixth over. In the 12th over, Siraj then got rid of Kusal Mendis. In his seven overs, Siraj scalped six wickets.

At the time of writing this article, Sri Lanka reached 50 for eight wickets in 15 overs. This Asia Cup final has become heavily one-sided affair and the match is expected to end very soon. Fans are waiting to see two more wickets fall quickly so that India can get a small target to chase easily and win the Asia Cup.
